Merritt Island VI : Our latest MI VI shoot was held 2/1/09 - 2/8/09 as photographers from around the country got together and shot around Florida's Space Coast . Despite the un-Florida like cold weather we managed to get in some photography.

Avian Reconditioning Center : One of the highlights of the Merritt Island VI Wildlife Shoot was our visit to the Avian Reconditioning Center in Apopka, Florida.

The center is dedicated to raptor rehabilitation, research and education. They do marvelous work educating the public and helping the state's raptors. You can check out their website at http://www.arc4raptors.org/

You can also assist them in their efforts by sponsoring the care of one of their "raptor residents" through the Adopt-a-Bird program.

MI V : In 2008 Dgrin and the Nikon Cafe held their annual wildlife shoot on Florida's Space Coast. For eight days fifty talented photographers from the US and Canada participated in this yearly event. NASA provided a photo op by scheduling a shuttle launch during the shoot.

Audubon of Florida's Center for Birds of Prey : The Audubon of Florida's Birds of Prey Center does marvelous work treating injured birds of prey. They treat over 675 birds of prey a year and have an excellent release rate of over 41%. I strongly urge all to help them with any size donation you can make.

Merritt Island III : On February 6th through the 13th of 2006 members of the Dgrin and Nikon Cafe internet photography forums came together in Melbourne, Florida for a wildlife shoot. They came from across the US and British Columbia to spend a few days together shooting wildlife at the Viera and Orlando Wetlands, Merritt Island NWR and the rookery in Gator Land in Orlano Florida.
